Sagamihara, the city I am in now, is about an hour by train from central Tokyo, which isn't so bad. I'm about a 2 minute walk from the train station/supermarket, and a 7-11 is just at the end of my block. The place has lots of restaurants close by, and my workplace is only a 5 minute walk, very convenient for living. So, here are some pictures of my apt.

The company also gave me a really neat/pretty cell phone too, complete with cell phone chain:

ah, it will come in handy this weekend when trying to meet up with people at train stations.
but it's current most useful feature is the alarm.

Your cell is so pretty! Hope you're feeling better! How's your Japanese?
phyllis! sorry i haven't been keeping up with the blog. your apartment is very japanese-clean and it seems like it's nice and convenient. :D just out of curiosity... what's up the ladder?
it's a loft up the ladder. That's where I'm supposed to sleep, but I'm too lazy/scared to go up there everyday. It's really cute though, since it has a little cubby an window too :)
